A FEW GOOD QUESTIONS

A little clarity.

What is Anaximander, the teaching library for Quebec teachers?

Anaximander is a free, bilingual teaching library for Quebec teachers: 101 guides in each language across eight areas, from classroom management and teaching strategies to learning theories, student wellbeing, curriculum design, parent and community relations, professional growth and educational leadership. Around the guides sit 34 question nodes, four reflection questionnaires, six reading paths, five classroom scenarios, practice plans and a reflection journal. It offers an offline option, needs no account, and your reflections stay on your device. It is an independent resource from Inquisitive Flow Learning in Montréal.

Where can Quebec teachers find free classroom management guides?

Anaximander's classroom management area gives Quebec teachers free guides in French and English; it is one of the library's eight areas, alongside teaching strategies, learning theories and student wellbeing. Start from a practical question in one of the 34 question nodes, follow one of the six reading paths, or work through one of the five classroom scenarios, then turn what you read into a practice plan for your own class and record what changed in the reflection journal. No account is needed.

What is the best free teaching resource for new teachers in Quebec?

Anaximander is a free teaching library built for the situation of a new Quebec teacher: quick guidance on classroom management, grounding in learning theories, and a place to reflect, in French and English. Its 101 guides per language cover eight areas, and its six reading paths give you a starting order instead of a wall of articles. Reflection questionnaires, classroom scenarios, practice plans and a journal help you apply the reading. It is an independent resource, so combine it with your school's induction program and the official PFEQ.

Are Anaximander's questionnaires validated assessments or official professional development?

No. Anaximander's four questionnaires are structured reflections meant to help a Quebec teacher notice patterns in their own practice; they are not validated psychometric instruments, and completing them does not count as recognized professional development or certification from any ministry, school board or centre de services scolaire. Inquisitive Flow Learning is an independent Montréal company with no affiliation to the Ministère de l'Éducation du Québec. Use the results as a starting point for a reading path or a conversation with a mentor, not as a rating.

Does Anaximander work offline, and does it need an account?

Anaximander needs no account and offers an offline option, so Quebec teachers can read its guides at school even with an unreliable connection. Your journal entries, questionnaire responses and practice plans are saved in your browser on your own device, with no cloud synchronization; browser storage can be cleared, so keep backups of your work. The library is free in both English and French, built in Montréal by Inquisitive Flow Learning, and all 101 guides per language are open from the first visit.
